Swedish visitors to YSS, and the AIM partnership
A party of 5 Swedish Employment Support project workers visited the partners in the AIM project.

This week a party of 5 Swedish Employment Support project workers visited the partners in the AIM project. Following the AIM study visit to Stockholm earlier this year, when they had met with Rob Smith, YSS CEO and Michele Hatfield, the AIM Partnership Co-ordinator, this group were especially interested in the approaches to Social Enterprise development, holistic service delivery and mentoring.

They have spent 3 days in  the Midlands visiting AIM partners including Ubique, BES and then YSS, and they also enjoyed a tour of The Fold CIC Care Farm and sampled a dinner with produce, locally grown by YSS service users, at The Fold’s cafe.

Lizette Andersson, the manager for the Kompass project in Ulricehamn, West Sweden said ‘The visit to the AIM partnership has greatly enhanced our understanding of the different approaches being trialled that we can seek to incorporate in our project to improve services. Particularly the use of volunteers to widen and diversify  our work.’’

A reciprocal visit is planned for early next year when several AIM representatives will visit the Swedish project.
