1 Step Beyond : Voluntary sector come together to look for new ways of delivering services.
"Multiple income streams, Multiple outcomes and Multiple skills- all coming together" "Multiple resources aligning  to provide multiple benefits" Quotes from some of the delegates on the aims of the workshops.

3 recent events, one in Hereford, one in Telford and the latest in Shropshire  were  all successful networking occassions  with over 50 Voluntary and Community Sector organisations  participating in workshops. These were  looking at reverse  engineering of services=designing services from the ground upwards. These followed a similar event held in Worcestershire in December 2012  and the launch of the 1 Step Beyond concept in October.

Each West Mercia Probation Trust  local delivery area identified  its priority areas for gaps in the current services  they can  offer. Discussions took place over the potential  for development of services for  a variety of themes  such as :

  • Women offenders,
  • Men or women offenders with anger management  issues (not domestic violence)
  • Those  who need support  to improve  and maintain their relationships
  • Young adult offenders age up to 25
  • Improving better services in rural areas
  • Multi-generational offending
  • Black and minority BME offenders
