Robin Walker MP: Young carers often have to show a degree of maturity that we would not ask or expect from other people their age.

Robin Walker, MP for Worcester  said at a recent meeting with young carers:

“I have always been very impressed with the young carers who are a bright set of young people who work incredibly hard to support relatives in need. Its been great to welcome them to Parliament and  to visit them in Worcester. These children and young adults care for family members and often have to show a degree of maturity that we would not ask or expect from other people their age.

It is a pleasure to see how YSS supports them and allows them to enjoy some well earned time out.

I was honoured to be asked to speak to the former players of the Worcester Warriors the weekend before this event and surprised and delighted to receive the cake they very kindly had made for my birthday. It was a pleasure to be able to share it with the young carers and saved me getting into trouble at home as my wife had also baked me a cake!”

Robin,  is also supporting the forthcoming YSS conference ” Worcestershire Young Carers”  with a  supporting letter to young carers to be  read out  at the event.

Young Carers themselves have planned  and  will help  deliver the day: May 21, at St Peters in Worcester. A few places are still remaining. For more information and to book: Conference  invitation

Please come and support  young carers at this event.
