YSS staff conference – clients and volunteers share moving and inspiring stories

Wharton Park  hosted YSS’s staff conference  which was attended by staff working  across  the West Mercia  area and Warwickshire. Amongst  our attendees  were  our Trustees, including the newest, David Chantler, who was  former  chief executive for the WestCaplor visited our YSS staff conference Mercia Probation Service. We were also joined by  service  users  and volunteers, together  with  Caplor Horizons.

Trustee and staff at staff conferenceThe very informative day, gave an update  on YSS’s achievements, plans and finances, together with an insight into  3 areas of our work. Ange Parton, Operations Director, spoke of the work of the Worcestershire Young Carers team and the EnHance Shropshire early help project- focusing on hearing the voice of the child. 2 young carers,  Hannah and Ness, shared their  caring journeys- and they would be  doing this again  at the Young Carers conference on April 20.

 A selection of Volunteers  joined us  too, and we are planning  that there  will be a regular invites for them  at future events too.

Annette said she was  delighted  to be volunteering for YSS, and  not only was she  privileged to  share part of a families journey, she was  humbled   by the difference  and  achievements that  by having support from the EnHance team can make  to lives  of all the family.

We were delighted  that  5  service  users joined us  and took part in a  question and answer session with Debb Grantham, Operations Director. All were  inspired by the  positive relationship between the  clients and their key workers and the difference they can make in their lives. Staff  were clearly full of praise  for the steps  their clients  had taken to improve their lives Quotes  from them included:
