YSS Bradley Mental health project: Spring 2015 e- Bulletin

YSS marks Mental Health Awareness Week   11th to 15th May 2015

The YSS Bradley Mental Health Development project is nearing the end of its four year funding but this is does not mean the end of the YSS commitment to supporting those service users with multiple and complex needs who experience health inequalities.

The details of the work of the project are set out in our latest report (http://yss.org.uk/yss-central/resources/reports/) . This includes a foreword by Lord Bradley who remains fully supportive of the work of the project , and he said ” The work of this project shows the value and creativity that a voluntary sector organisation like YSS can provide by working in partnership with the statutory services.”

In November 2014 we signed the pledge ‘Time to Change’ to end mental health discrimination and remain committed to this objective in all the strands of YSS’s work.

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week in particular we are extending our provision to offer taster sessions of our ‘Moodmaster’ group  to Criminal Justice professionals.(http://www.moodmaster.co.uk/aboutus.html ).    We are also offering, later in the week, the opportunity for YSS service users to attend an accredited Mental Health First Aid course.

You are invited to drop in to visit YSS, 13 -17 Carden Street, Worcester WR1 2AT on 12th May between 11am and 3pm.

You can:

  • to find our more about our work in mental health
  • join a one hour Moodmaster session 11-12noon or 2-3pm
  • drop in to talk to our specialist mental health workers
