Meet & Mentoring – Positive Partnership working in Warwickshire

Futures Unlocked

YSS is working in partnership with Futures Unlocked on the Meet and Mentoring project in Warwickshire. The day-to-day running of the project by Futures Unlocked commenced earlier this summer and YSS Senior Key Worker Andy Shaw commented that this is “a very positive partnership working with a Warwickshire charity.”

Futures Unlocked commissioned Bill Stewart, who has designed a range of bespoke YSS case management systems, including the one for our Meet and Mentoring projects across Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Bill developed the case management system for Futures Unlocked to be used for the Warwickshire Meet and Mentoring project. This supports service users upon leaving custody from Featherstone HMP and Hewell HMP, in conjunction with Warwickshire & West Mercia Community Rehabilitation Company.

A recent training session conducted by YSS Operations Director Debb Grantham and YSS Senior Keyworker Andy Shaw  trained staff and volunteers involved in the project how to use the case management system. A further training session is due to take place in the autumn.

YSS also recently attended a Resettlement Fayre at Hewell HMP, where EnHance Support Service (ESS) Keyworker Alison Steedman and Meet and Mentoring Volunteer Co-ordinator Mandy Gray were able to meet professionals from other organisations working with Hewell HMP, whilst promoting the areas that YSS work in.
