Shelving unit built by service users

As part of the Employment Support Programme, YSS was asked by The Fold to make a shelving unit, for their new farm shop.  YSS  has worked in partnership with  this  Worcester charity on  several Criminal Justice Projects in  previous  years. The Fold  grows  a lot of it’s own food on The Fold Farm (using organic methods), and they make and serve great food in the Fold Cafe. Over the years they have built up a large following of food-loving customers who understand and appreciate their approach to sourcing and serving local, seasonal and organic produce. The Farm shop is a new venture for them and YSS are delighted  to be involved.

David Andrewartha, YSS Operations Manager  commented  “This is  a  great demonstration of partnership working, with service user skills at the heart of it. The shelving unit was made  in YSS’s workshop at Carden Street Worcester. “

This shelving unit was  made on one of YSS’s projects working with offenders  and ex-offenders.  The projects  goals  are   to break down barriers to employability with the ultimate aim of finding sustainable employment, and instilling hope in those we work with that their situation can change for the better. The Employment Support Programme will  offer a ‘pick-and-mix’ menu of support tailored to meet the needs of the individual with the long term aim of breaking down the barriers to employment.
