NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) course for YSS and partner agencies

YSS Criminal Justice Team, as well as our partners from the CRC and West Mercia Police attended a two day NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) course hosted at our YSS Head Office in Worcester.  The course is a programme which is experience-based approach to training.  We were encouraged to set goals for ourselves and work towards them, and to think about how NLP could work for us and our clients. It was not a “do it like this and all your problems will be solved” kind of training, it was, a set of approaches that we could take and adapt as we saw fit to build on our existing skillset.

David Andrewartha, YSS Operations Manager added “Some of what we experienced on the course was familiar, some were brand new techniques in order to motivate/change the thinking of the individuals we work with .”

From the trainer : Will Thomas –Will is a multiple author, coach and trainer, with over 25 years in the field of human development.

“My training is lively, engaging and practical. With over a decade of coaching experience in a range of settings from elite sport, the military, education, health, psychology, and children and young people in challenging circumstances, I bring a wealth of knowledge and skills to your training.

It is my firm belief however, that you are the expert in your particular client group, and above all you are the expert on yourself.  Since all change in the world begins with how we perceive ourselves and how we behave as a result, only you can make the ultimate decisions about what works for you and your clients. That’s why this training will equip you with a range of approaches to choose from, so that your toolkit is even broader and deeper than it already is. “

Quote from Will  after the two day training: “ It was both a privilege and a pleasure to work with a team of such dedicated professionals, whose contribution to their clients  is immense. They were the embodiment of a highly effective team that is seeking to continually improve their practice and the outcomes for their service users.”

 Training feedback included:

“Stimulating, thought provoking and relevant to the work that we do”

“Informative and Inspirational”

“Excellent, opens your mind to all possibilities”

“Very refreshing, interesting to the point, I will be exploring NLP further”

 “Very thought provoking”
