Worcester University students start their placements at YSS.

YSS are delighted to welcome our 3 new Worcester University work placement students.  They are studying for a BA Criminology degree: http://www.worcester.ac.uk/courses/criminology-ba-hons.html. The  university programme is designed for individuals who have an interest in developing their knowledge and critical understanding of crime, its causes and the impact on the individual, families and society as a whole.

Their placements  with YSS began with a 5 day induction week in January and will conclude 15 weeks later in April. During their first week, they spent time with different staff learning about a range of projects. They were able to enjoy taster sessions in the Carden Street Café and in the workshop during our Employment Support Project.

Workshop challenge!

Lorraine Preece, YSS CEO,  dropped by on Tuesday to welcome the students to the team. Each student has been allocated a YSS mentor who will meet with them on a weekly basis and work with them to develop their skills. We hope that they will enjoy the experience and gain valuable knowledge from working within our Criminal Justice projects.
