Funding our work
Any funding we receive can be ring fenced for certain projects and for any key groups of people who we are supporting. We can let you know exactly how any funding has been spent and what we have achieved with it.
YSS is a registered charity – your support is vital
There are many ways in which you could choose to support YSS.
You could choose to support a YSS project through
- Personal Donations – please click DONATE ONLINE at the base of any page. This will take you to the YSS pageBT My Donate website. YSS chose this charity giving site, after comparison with other similar sites, as it maximizes the donation reaching YSS, and takes only a small administration fee from the donation if you are eligible for gift aid.
- Fundraising – we have had individuals, companies and organisations in the community (such as Rotary, Round Table and Lions), running marathons, organising cake stalls, raffles, lunches and dinners, and even climbing mountains to raise funds for us. For example Seddon Housing raised over £4800 for our Stoke projects, by a sponsored climb of Snowdon twice and former member of staff raised £400 from her half marathon run. Fund raisers have raised from £50 upwards and every penny raised goes directly to support your chosen project. We are very grateful for all amounts no matter how small.

Worcestershire Young Carers:
We are currently keen to raise funds for our Worcestershire Young Carers project. One of our biggest on-going costs is for running weekly youth clubs specifically for Young Carers. Through clubs we currently support up to 100 young carers per month.
Clubs are held every two weeks and young people are transported into the club for an evening of fun and activities to provide them with some much needed time out and respite from their caring duties. This allows them an opportunity to relax and just be a young person, an opportunity that they might not otherwise have.
As well as activities these clubs provide one-to-one support from staff and allow young people to socialize and mix with others and receive peer support from those who share similar responsibilities.
The clubs cost about £25k per annum to run and we usually only have funding for a few months ahead at anyone time. Any donation or fund raising activity you could develop would be gratefully received.
If you think you can help please contact Mary Lewis, Worcestershire Young Carers Team Manager, directly on 01299 252 320 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
