Skills 4 Life aims to support women across Worcestershire to reflect on their current situations and with our support to live a life that is more aligned to their dreams. Funded by The Smallwood Trust, we offer tailored holistic finance and employment workshops designed to empower women in our community to achieve their goals, grow in confidence, connect and support one another.

How does Skills 4 Life work?
Skills 4 Life helps support women in aspects of their life, to enable them to reach their goals. We offer workshops and 1-2-1 support in the following areas:
- Employment
- Pathways to Education
- Financial Empowerment
- Lifestyle Analysis
- Confidence
- Healthy Relationships
- Self-Care
- Healthy Lifestyle

Criteria For Skills 4 Life
We have a very broad referral criteria for Skills 4 Life, so we can support as many women in Worcestershire as possible.
We accept professional referrals and self-referrals into the service.
- Female or female identifying individual
- Be over 18 years old
- Live in Worcestershire
- If a professional referral, consent is required prior to the referral being made
- The woman referred/self-referring should be motivated to engage and make changes in her life however big or small.
- Must identify with one or more of these areas of need/support:
- Self-care and living skills
- Managing money and personal admin
- Social networks and relationships
- Emotional and mental health
- Employment seeking
- Physical health

Discretionary Fund
We are also able to financially help some of the women we support through our Smallwood Trust discretionary fund. This funding enables us to assist women who are facing financial hardship and need to buy essential items such as whitegoods, food, help to pay their electricity/gas bills, or even plug a rent shortfall. These funds are vital for helping women out of crisis and giving them the opportunity and ability to turn their lives around.

What Can You Expect From Skills 4 Life?
- Initial assessment with a skilled YSS worker.
- Individually tailored plan of support encompassing 1:1 support and group workshops
- Workshops focused on employment.
- Support and preparation with job applications, CVs and interviews.
- Workshops focused on personal issues like self-care, confidence and healthy eating
- Workshops focused on employment and finances.
- Opportunity to meet other like minded individuals
